No-Gi BJJ / Submission
Wrestling or Grappling
Submission grappling (or Nogi) is a cross training of various grappling arts. It uses elements of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, sambo, Japanese jiu-jitsu, catch wrestling and Greco-Roman wrestling with the goal of controlling and eventually submitting your opponent.
In no-gi grappling, grabbing the clothes is generally not allowed. Instead, practitioners can try to control an opponent by gripping the body’s natural handles: the neck, the wrist, the elbow, the knee, the hips, etc.
Nogi grappling is most applicable to Mixed Martial Arts competition.
(We provide NoGi gear as well. Speak to a staff member to inquire.)
